Merging Recommendations in the Event Tracker

The Event Tracker logs each recommendation made in ExpertALERT by an analyst. Each recommendation appears in its own row in the Event Tracker table and is considered an "event."

In some cases, you may want to merge recommendations so they can be addressed via a single work order. For example, several recommendations for a particular machine may be related to a single root cause and need to be addressed at the same time.

To merge recommendations in the Event Tracker

  1. Assign a work order to one of the recommendations you want to merge:

    1. Edit the recommendation.

    1. Enter a number in the Work Order Number box. (If you use a CMMS, this would be the same work order number used with that system.)

    2. Click OK when prompted about the Work Order Status automatically updating to Work Order Assigned.

Removing a Recommendation from a Merged Event

  1. Edit the event with the merged recommendations and locate the recommendation you want to remove.

  2. Click the Remove button next to the recommendation.

The event is returned to its original state and appears in its own row in the Event Tracker.
